The Kukkiva dress is made of organic cotton poplin, and it has a slim, A-line fit. The dress features the Baluns pattern, which is printed in Helsinki. The mini dress has an O-neck with a concealed zipper in the back seam, a bell-shaped back piece, short sleeves, and side seam pockets.
Marimekko dresses are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary. Each item is unique.
Petra Börner is often drawn to natural themes in her work, exploring varied techniques with passionate lines that tie her compositions together. Baluns draws inspiration from spring’s budding power and the desire for positive change. The abstract floral motif is part of the ongoing POWERFLOWER series and was created with black ink on paper. The title can mean ‘party’, referring to the brilliant energy found in celebrations, with all of the dancing and laughter around you.
